Electronic Scanning for Custom Orthotics

What is the PedAlign digital scanning system?

PedAlign's image analysis technology was originally developed by NASA and the Artificial Intelligence Lab at MIT. PedAlign's adaptation of this technology uses an infrared optical scanning technology that captures your true foot contours and arch height measurements in order to produce a high-quality orthotic. The PedAlign scanning system was developed specially for the Podiatric market and is one-of-a-kind. It is a fast and easy solution that allows your doctor to prescribe orthotics that are custom-made just for you.

How does the scanning process work?

The doctor will ask you to stand barefoot on the scanner and the scanner will take digital cast of your foot in just seconds. Your digital footprint and your doctor's prescription are then electronically transmitted to PedAlign for evaluation and production of the finest quality orthotics on the market today. Trained PedAlign technicians evaluate and measure your scan to make you a custom-made orthotic that is just right for your feet.

What are the advantages of the PedAlign digital scanning system?

Many Podiatrists today are still using plaster casting, which is a messy and time consuming process. Others use devices like pressure mats or front plates, which do not capture the true contours and arch height measurements of your foot. The PedAlign scanner is fast, easy, and accurate and you do not have to get your feet covered in plaster. In the end, your doctor's visit is more enjoyable, and you receive the highest quality orthotics on the market today.
